What is CASL?

Definition and meaning of CASL:

Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) protects Canadians from spam and other electronic threats. It prohibits sending commercial emails without the recipient’s consent.

Companies must include contact information in every message and provide an unsubscribe button.

CASL prohibits using shady practices. For example, pretending it’s a personal message when there is commercial intent.

Whether you are from Canada or not, you can be fined if you don’t follow CASL when emailing Canadians.
