What is Engagement?

Definition and meaning of Engagement:

Engagement is a form of interaction with other users and brands on social media platforms. For example, post likes, comments, and shares.

Engagement is vital because

  1. It gives feedback on how well the post performs and how people interact with it.
  2. It gives social media algorithms a signal that this post is interesting. If a post has a lot of engagement, the algorithms can show it to more people.
  3. It helps build relationships and connections between people and brands. When people feel like they are part of a community, they are more likely to stick around or even become brand advocates.
