What is UGC?

Definition and meaning of UGC:

User-generated content (UGC) is content people create about a business or a product.

UGC is an authentic and trustworthy form of marketing. It comes from regular people rather than brands or celebrities. It’s also fast and cost-effective; it doesn’t need professional efforts or equipment.

It’s sometimes hard to get UGC organically, but you can influence it by:

  • asking customers to create content for an incentive (free product or a discount);
  • paying micro-influencers to create content;
  • create your own UGC-like content.
