What is HTTP (HTTPS)?

HTTP is the short form of Hypertext Transfer Protocol. It’s a communication protocol for transferring data from a server to a web browser.

Each time you click on a link, your computer sends an HTTP request to the server that hosts the website. The server then responds by sending the requested information back to your computer.

HTTPS is an extension of HTTP that uses SSL/TLS encryption to secure data transfers.

With HTTPS, the web server only has access to the information it’s supposed to have. So no other third party will see your personal information or sensitive details.

Even some browsers, like Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, warn users to only visit HTTPS sites to protect their privacy.
