What is Gen X?

Definition and meaning of Gen X:

Gen X is the generation born between 1965 and 1980. They’re considered to be transitional, sandwiched between the Baby Boomers and Generation Y.

Gen Xers are sometimes known as the “latchkey generation,” as they were often left home alone after school while their parents worked. They are also called the “MTV Generation,” as they grew up during the rise of music videos.

Today, Generation X is notorious for being skeptical and independent. They are often described as more pragmatic and realistic than their idealistic Millennial counterparts.
